Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Acts 12:1–17
While the church prays, Peter is held in prison. An angel leads him past the guards, and he reaches the praying household, where Rhoda recognises him but others struggle to believe her.
Main takeaway: Peter’s rescue includes both answered prayer and the community’s surprised response.
While you use the cards
Read one question at a time and look back at the passage when an answer needs explaining.
Follow chains, the open gate and the knock at the house. Notice Rhoda’s role and the others’ hesitation rather than stopping the story at the escape.
Allow younger learners a partner or an oral answer. Older learners can explain the evidence for an answer rather than relying only on the answer guide.
Questions to explore
- What was the church doing while Peter was imprisoned?
- Who recognised his voice?
- How can we listen when someone brings surprising news?
