Age & adult help
Reading questions, comparing answers and taking turns are the main demands once the cards are prepared.
An adult prepares the cards and can read questions and answer choices aloud for younger participants.
What you’ll need
Printer, paper or light card, scissors or an adult-operated paper trimmer. A laminator is optional for reuse.
Time & preparation
Preparation of one card set. Allow an additional 10–20 minutes for a short game or discussion.
Age is an editorial estimate for the motor and reading demands of this format. Difficulty, completion time and suggested tools are planning estimates, not build-tested.
Check the file before you print for a group, and allow for any extra help the kids might need.
Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Daniel 3:1–30
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refuse to worship the king’s image. They say God can rescue them but remain faithful even if he does not; in the furnace a fourth figure appears, and they emerge unharmed.
Main takeaway: Their faithfulness does not depend on being promised an easy rescue.
While you use the cards
Read one question at a time and look back at the passage when an answer needs explaining.
Notice the golden image, the refusal and the fourth figure. Read their words before the furnace, especially the phrase about what happens if they are not rescued.
Allow younger learners a partner or an oral answer. Older learners can explain the evidence for an answer rather than relying only on the answer guide.
Questions to explore
- What were the men told to worship?
- What did they say before entering the furnace?
- How is a conviction different from doing something only for a reward?
