Getting ready
Age & adult help
The reviewed multi-page packs have detailed scenes and printed story or verse text, rather than only large preschool shapes.
Select a picture to suit the child and read any text aloud. Younger children can colour larger areas without completing every small detail.
What you’ll need
Printer, paper, colouring pencils or crayons. No cutting or gluing is assumed for a colouring sheet.
Time & preparation
Per colouring page. Teaching and discussion time are additional.
Age is an editorial estimate for the motor and reading demands of this format. Difficulty, completion time and suggested tools are planning estimates, not build-tested.
Check the file before you print for a group, and allow for any extra help the kids might need.
Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Suggested Bible reading: Isaiah 40:6–8; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Matthew 6:25–34; 1 Corinthians 3:5–9
Flowers, birds and growing things illustrate passages about God’s word, new creation, care and shared work. Paul’s planting and watering image concerns people serving together, with growth attributed to God.
Main takeaway: Spring growth is a useful picture, but each verse gives the picture its meaning.
While you colour
Choose one illustration and read the part of the passage it represents.
Choose a growing-things design and read its paragraph. For planting and watering, name the different contributions people make to a shared task.
With younger learners, name the visible people and actions together. Older learners can compare the picture with the passage and distinguish the text from an illustrator’s added details.
Questions to explore
- What changes and what endures in Isaiah’s comparison?
- How do planting and watering work together?
- What contribution could you make to a shared project?
Common questions
What files are included in this download?
The download is a 6-page PDF: Spring-ThemedCuteandFunnyColoringSheets.pdf. This is the English edition. You print the files yourself; physical supplies are not included.
Do I need to make a model?
These are six separate illustrated colouring sheets. Choose a scene to colour and discuss, or use the sheets over several sessions. They are flat pages, so no cutting or assembly is required. For a Bible reading to accompany this activity, use Isaiah 40:6–8; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Matthew 6:25–34; 1 Corinthians 3:5–9.
Which pages should I print, and at what size?
The original PDF pages are A4 landscape. Spring-ThemedCuteandFunnyColoringSheets.pdf: print the pages you want to use for each learner or group. Print single-sided. On US Letter paper, select Letter and Fit or shrink to the printable area; the originals are not separate Letter-sized files.
What supplies and preparation does this need?
Ordinary printer paper and colouring pencils or crayons. Choose one sheet at a time rather than expecting children to finish all six in one sitting.
What help might children need with this activity?
Suggested ages: 5–12 years. Select a picture to suit the child and read any text aloud. Younger children can colour larger areas without completing every small detail. Adjust this guide for the child’s reading and making skills.
