Bezalel and Oholiab: Gifts for God's Work

God chose workers and gave wisdom for the sacred work he had commanded.

Exodus 31:1–11About 2 minutes
Let’s begin

The Lord spoke to Moses and named a man for a special task. He chose Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah. God himself called Bezalel for this work.

What happened next

God said he had filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and skill for many kinds of work. Bezalel would be able to design and make things in gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood.

What happened next

God also appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, to work with Bezalel. And God gave wisdom to others who were wise-hearted, so they could make all that he had commanded. This work was not for one person alone.

What happened next

They were to make the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the covenant and its mercy seat, and all the furniture of the Tent. They were also to make the table and its vessels, the pure lamp stand and its vessels, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering and its vessels, and the basin with its base.

The end

They were to make the finely worked garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons as they served as priests. They were also to prepare the anointing oil and the sweet incense for the holy place. They were to do all this as God had commanded.
