David the Young Shepherd

Little beginnings and a heart full of trust.

1 Samuel 16–17About 1 minute

Let’s begin

David looked after his father’s sheep. He protected them and learned to trust God.

What happened next

When Samuel came to choose a new king, David was still out caring for the flock.

The end

God told Samuel that people look at the outside, but God looks at the heart. Samuel anointed David.

A children’s retelling of 1 Samuel 16–17. You can read the Bible passage together too.
