Eutychus Is Restored at Troas
At a night meeting, a young man fell from a high window, and the believers were greatly comforted when he was brought in alive.
On the first day of the week, the disciples gathered to break bread. Paul was with them, and because he planned to leave the next day, he kept speaking until midnight. They were meeting in an upper room, and there were many lights there.
A young man named Eutychus was sitting in the window. As Paul continued speaking, Eutychus grew very sleepy. Overcome by sleep, he fell from the third floor and was taken up dead.
Paul went down to him. He bent over him and held him, and he told the others not to be troubled, because his life was in him.
Then Paul went upstairs again. He broke bread and ate, and he went on talking with them for a long time, until daybreak. After that, he departed.
They brought the boy in alive, and they were greatly comforted. Even after a frightening night, this meeting ended with comfort for the believers.
