Mary Visits Elizabeth
Mary travelled quickly to visit Elizabeth, and Elizabeth welcomed her with joy and Spirit-filled blessing.
In those days, Mary set out quickly for the hill country, to a city of Judah. She entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby in her womb leaped. Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Then Elizabeth cried out with a loud voice. She blessed Mary among women, and she blessed the child Mary would bear.
Elizabeth wondered why she should receive a visit from the mother of her Lord. She said that as soon as Mary's greeting reached her ears, the baby in her womb leaped for joy.
Elizabeth also said Mary was blessed because she believed what the Lord had spoken would be fulfilled. Mary's visit brought joy and strong encouragement. What do you notice about Mary's faith and Elizabeth's response?
