Let’s begin

The Bible says there was much more to tell about Solomon, including what he did and the wisdom he showed. It points readers to other written records for the rest of his story.

What happened next

Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel for forty years. This closing note pauses to remember the full length of his rule.

The end

Then Solomon died and was buried in the city of David, his father. After him, his son Rehoboam reigned in his place.

A children’s retelling of 1 Kings 11:41–43; 2 Chronicles 9:29–31. You can read the Bible passage together too.

1 Kings mentions 'the book of the acts of Solomon'. 2 Chronicles instead names records connected with Nathan the prophet, Ahijah the Shilonite, and Iddo the seer.
