The Two Debtors
Jesus told a short parable about two debtors to show how forgiveness and love are connected.
Jesus told a story about a lender and two people who owed him money. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other owed fifty.
Neither of them could pay what they owed. The lender forgave both of them, cancelling both debts.
Then Jesus asked which of the two would love the lender more. Simon answered that it would be the one forgiven the bigger debt, and Jesus said Simon had judged correctly.
