Named person · Old Testament

Meet Eve.

The first woman in Genesis.

Eve: in a lush garden holding a small leafy branch, fully clothed in a simple modest tunic

Who was Eve?

Eve is the first woman in Genesis and Adam's companion. The garden story includes their shared life, temptation and broken trust. Later she becomes the mother of Cain, Abel and Seth.

After both people ate the fruit, they hid and blamed others. The account can help us talk about taking responsibility without blaming all women or all men for one person's actions.
