Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Genesis 3:1–13, 21–24
The serpent questions God’s command, and Eve and Adam eat the forbidden fruit. They become afraid and hide; God questions them, addresses what has happened and clothes them before they leave Eden.
Main takeaway: The garden account explores temptation, responsibility and God’s continuing care.
As you arrange the scene
Discuss the characters and setting before placing the cut-out pieces on the background.
Trace listening, eating, hiding and answering. Keep responsibility with both people rather than teaching that women alone caused human wrongdoing.
Younger learners can name the people and describe their positions. Older learners can explain the moment being represented and distinguish the passage from choices made in the illustration.
Questions to explore
- What question did the serpent raise?
- How did Adam and Eve respond when questioned?
- What is the difference between taking responsibility and blaming someone else?

Which pages should I print, and at what size?
The original PDF pages are A4 landscape. EveandtheTreeofKnowledge.pdf: print the pages you want to use for each learner or group. Print single-sided. On US Letter paper, select Letter and Fit or shrink to the printable area; the originals are not separate Letter-sized files.
