Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Luke 2:1–20
Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem, where Jesus is born and laid in a manger. Angels announce the birth to shepherds, who visit the baby and share the news.
Main takeaway: The Christmas story announces good news through the birth of Jesus.
While you fold and play
Open one flap at a time and read its prompt before moving on.
Follow the journey to Bethlehem, the manger, the angels and the shepherds’ visit. Notice who hears and shares the news.
An adult can read a prompt and accept a spoken or drawn response. Confident readers can locate the relevant passage before explaining the prompt.
Questions to explore
- Where was Jesus laid?
- Who heard the angels’ message?
- How did the shepherds respond after seeing Jesus?
