Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Suggested Bible reading: Psalm 107:1; James 1:17
This activity uses gratitude prompts about family, friends, food, home, creation, animals, Jesus and salvation. The suggested verses connect thanksgiving with God’s goodness and gifts.
Main takeaway: Thankfulness becomes more meaningful when we name what we appreciate.
While you fold and play
Open one flap at a time and read its prompt before moving on.
After choosing a prompt, replace a broad thank you with a particular example. Choose words or a drawing instead of requiring a hug or physical contact.
An adult can read a prompt and accept a spoken or drawn response. Confident readers can locate the relevant passage before explaining the prompt.
Questions to explore
- What particular thing are you thankful for?
- Who helped make it possible?
- How could you express appreciation without being asked?
