Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Genesis 1
God creates light, land, seas, plants, animals and people. He makes human beings in his image and sees that everything he has made is very good.
Main takeaway: God made the world good, and every person has value.
As you reflect and write
Use the story activity and question sheet first, then write a reflection letter to revisit later.
Name the light, land and seas, living creatures and people. Connect being made in God’s image with how we treat one another and the world around us.
An adult can scribe a younger learner’s response. Older learners can choose a specific thought or action for their letter and later reflect on it without treating the capsule as a prediction.
Questions to explore
- What is something in creation you are thankful for?
- What do you think very good means?
- How can we show care for other people and the world around us?
