An adult should prepare any centre hole and fit the fastener if the template uses one. Help cut the viewing window.
What you’ll need
Printer, paper or light card, colouring pencils or crayons, scissors. A split pin (paper fastener) and adult-made centre hole are suggested; confirm the template’s mechanism.

Check the file before you print for a group, and allow for any extra help the kids might need.
Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Jeremiah 18:1–12
Jeremiah watches a potter reshape a spoiled vessel from the same clay. God uses what Jeremiah sees as an image of his relationship with a people who are called to turn from wrongdoing.
Main takeaway: The potter’s work introduces a call to respond and change course.
As you turn the wheel
Turn slowly and use each revealed section as a pause in the retelling.
Notice the vessel being reshaped rather than thrown away. Read the explanation after the potter scene so the image stays connected with the passage’s call to turn.
Younger learners can predict the next pictured event. Older learners can explain a character’s decision at the point where it appears.
Questions to explore
- What did the potter do with the spoiled clay?
- What response did God ask from the people?
- What could changing course look like after a wrong choice?
Common questions
What files are included in this download?
The download is a 6-page PDF: 36_JeremiahandthePottersWheel_Jeremiah18.pdf. This is the English edition. You print the files yourself; physical supplies are not included.
Is this a spinner with a moving wheel?
The actual file is six flat colouring sheets about Jeremiah visiting the potter, rather than a rotating paper wheel. The pictures follow the potter shaping and remaking a pot, then connect the image with God’s care. The final sheet uses Isaiah 64:8. The pictured scenes include: Potter’s Wheel Bible Craft Colouring Sheets (PDF).
Which pages should I print, and at what size?
The original PDF pages are A4 landscape. 36_JeremiahandthePottersWheel_Jeremiah18.pdf: print the pages you want to use for each learner or group. Print single-sided. On US Letter paper, select Letter and Fit or shrink to the printable area; the originals are not separate Letter-sized files.
What supplies and preparation does this need?
Printer paper and colouring pencils or crayons. No split pin, scissors or moving mechanism is required for these sheets.
What help might children need with this activity?
Choose a sheet and read its caption aloud for younger children. The six-page file involves colouring rather than cutting a spinning wheel, so a learner does not need to manage a centre fastener. Use the amount of text and picture detail to choose a suitable sheet.
