Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: 2 Kings 22–23
During repairs to the temple a book of the law is found and read to Josiah. He responds with distress, seeks guidance and leads a public renewal of the covenant and reforms in worship.
Main takeaway: Hearing God’s word leads Josiah towards changed actions.
While you colour the panels
Read the panels in order, pausing at a change in a character’s action or understanding.
Follow finding the book, reading, seeking guidance and reform. Connect listening with making a practical change rather than simply celebrating a discovery.
Younger learners can describe an action in one panel. Older learners can compare a caption with its Bible passage and discuss what a short comic leaves out.
Questions to explore
- Where was the book found?
- Why did Josiah seek guidance?
- What would show that someone has acted on what they learned?
