Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Genesis 6:9–9:17
Noah builds the ark as God instructs. His family and the animals survive the flood, and afterwards God makes a covenant with living creatures, giving the rainbow as its sign.
Main takeaway: The rainbow in Noah’s story is a reminder of God’s covenant.
While you colour the bookmarks
Follow the scenes: God tells Noah to build the ark; The flood covers the earth; Noah releases the dove; God sets the rainbow promise.
Use the separate bookmark pictures to retell the account and connect each one with the moment it represents.
Put building, entering the ark, the flood, dry land and the rainbow in order. Distinguish the animals being rescued from the promise made afterwards.
Younger learners can arrange the scenes with an adult. Older learners can choose a bookmark, locate the corresponding passage and explain its place in the wider story.
