Printing tips

The story behind the craft

Bible passage: Acts 3:1–10

Peter and John meet a man who cannot walk at the temple gate called Beautiful. Peter offers help in Jesus’ name, and the man walks, leaps and praises God, drawing the attention of people who recognise him.

Main takeaway: The account moves from an overlooked daily need to public praise and recognition.

While you colour the panels

Read the panels in order, pausing at a change in a character’s action or understanding.

Notice the gate, Peter’s helping hand and the man’s response. Speak respectfully about disability and do not make healing a test of someone’s faith.

Younger learners can describe an action in one panel. Older learners can compare a caption with its Bible passage and discuss what a short comic leaves out.

Questions to explore

  • Where did the man sit each day?
  • What did Peter offer instead of money?
  • How can we notice and include someone others pass by?

Common questions

What files are included in this download?

The download is a 1-page PDF: PeterHealstheCrippledBeggar_Acts3.pdf. This is the English edition. You print the files yourself; physical supplies are not included.

Is this a comic to read or a colouring sheet?

It combines both on one page: outlined comic panels with story captions. Read the panels in sequence, then colour and talk about the illustrated moments. It is a flat printable, with no paper mechanism to assemble. Printed captions include “The beggar hopes for coins, but Peter has none” and “Peter and John see a crippled beggar at the temple gate”.

Which pages should I print, and at what size?

The original PDF pages are A4 portrait. PeterHealstheCrippledBeggar_Acts3.pdf: print the page for each learner or group. Print single-sided. On US Letter paper, select Letter and Fit or shrink to the printable area; the originals are not separate Letter-sized files.

What supplies and preparation does this need?

Printer paper and colouring pencils or crayons. An adult can read the captions and help children follow the order of the panels.
