Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Matthew 28:1–10; Luke 24:1–12
Women come to Jesus’ tomb and discover that he has risen. They hear the news, leave to tell the disciples and begin to understand that the tomb is not the end of Jesus’ story.
Main takeaway: Easter celebrates the good news that Jesus is risen.
While you colour the bookmarks
Follow the scenes: Women visit the tomb; The stone is rolled away; Angels announce “He is risen!”; Jesus appears to His followers.
Use the separate bookmark pictures to retell the account and connect each one with the moment it represents.
Contrast the sealed tomb with the women’s discovery. Ask how the message changes their expectations and what they do with it.
Younger learners can arrange the scenes with an adult. Older learners can choose a bookmark, locate the corresponding passage and explain its place in the wider story.
Questions to explore
- What did the women expect to find?
- What news did they hear?
- Who did they go to tell?
