Tobias and Raphael came to Ecbatana and reached the house of Raguel. Sarah greeted them and brought them inside. Raguel asked where they were from and whether they knew Tobit. When Tobias said that Tobit was his father, Raguel kissed him, wept, and blessed him. After hearing that Tobit had lost his sight, Raguel, Edna, and Sarah all wept, then welcomed their guests warmly and prepared a meal.
During the meal, Tobias asked Raphael, who was called Azarias, to speak to Raguel about the marriage they had discussed on the journey. Raguel said Sarah belonged to Tobias according to custom, but he also told the truth that seven former husbands had died. Tobias would not eat until they made a covenant. Then Raguel gave Sarah to Tobias as wife, blessed them, and wrote and sealed a marriage contract.
Raguel called Edna to prepare another room for Sarah. Edna brought her there, wept with her, and comforted her with a blessing. After supper, Tobias was brought in to Sarah. Remembering Raphael's words, he took the ashes of the incense and put the fish's heart and liver on them. When the demon smelled the smoke, it fled to the farthest parts of Egypt, and the angel bound it.
Once they were shut in together, Tobias got up from the bed and asked Sarah to rise and pray with him for mercy. He blessed the God of their fathers, spoke of God making Adam and Eve, and said he was taking Sarah not for lust but in truth. He asked that they might receive mercy and grow old together. Sarah answered, 'Amen', and they slept that night.
Raguel had feared that Tobias might also die, so he went out and dug a grave. He told Edna to send a maidservant to see whether Tobias was alive. She found Tobias and Sarah both sleeping, and reported that he was alive. Raguel blessed God for his mercy, ordered the grave to be filled in, held a wedding feast for fourteen days, and made Tobias stay until the celebration was finished. After that, he was to take half of Raguel's goods and go safely to his father.
