Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Genesis 37:12–36
Joseph’s brothers become jealous and sell him to traders travelling to Egypt. They deceive their father about what happened, leaving the family facing grief and separation.
Main takeaway: Jealousy and dishonesty can seriously harm other people.
As you arrange the scene
Discuss the characters and setting before placing the cut-out pieces on the background.
Follow the coat, the brothers’ actions and Joseph’s journey. Discuss choosing a trusted adult’s help when jealousy or bullying becomes harmful.
Younger learners can name the people and describe their positions. Older learners can explain the moment being represented and distinguish the passage from choices made in the illustration.
Questions to explore
- What did the brothers do with Joseph?
- How did they mislead their father?
- What could someone do instead of acting on jealousy?
