Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Joshua 6
Joshua follows God’s instructions as Israel marches around Jericho. On the seventh day the people shout and the walls fall; Rahab and her household are brought out as promised.
Main takeaway: Joshua’s account connects following instructions with keeping the promise to Rahab.
Before you wear the crown
Read the crown’s words and look at its story or symbol details before using it as a reminder.
Put the marching, trumpets and falling walls in sequence. Include Rahab’s rescue, and do not turn the battle into a game about attacking other people.
Younger learners can choose one pictured detail to talk about. Older learners can explain the reminder without assuming that every crown design is about a king or queen.
Questions to explore
- What instructions were the people given?
- What happened to Rahab’s household?
- Why is keeping a promise important even in a difficult situation?
