Printing tipsThe story behind the craft
Bible passage: Luke 6:12–16; Matthew 10:1–4
Jesus prays and chooses twelve apostles from among his disciples. Their names introduce a varied group who will learn from him, share his work and sometimes struggle to understand.
Main takeaway: The Twelve are learners called into shared responsibility.
As you turn the wheel
Turn slowly and use each revealed section as a pause in the retelling.
Read the names actually shown and distinguish a person’s name from a different account about that person later. The lists are an introduction, not proof that the disciples never made mistakes.
Younger learners can predict the next pictured event. Older learners can explain a character’s decision at the point where it appears.
Questions to explore
- What did Jesus do before choosing the Twelve?
- Which names do you recognise?
- What helps a group of different people learn together?
