Matthew 18:10; Matthew 18:12–14; Luke 15:1–7
Jesus told the parable of the lost sheep to show that one person matters greatly. This lesson helps children see the shepherd’s careful search and joyful response, and connects that picture to Jesus’ teaching about welcoming and valuing people.
Matthew 19:13–15; Mark 10:13–16; Luke 18:15–17
In this lesson, children will see that people brought little children and even babies to Jesus, the disciples tried to stop them, and Jesus clearly welcomed them. The passage also shows what Jesus said about receiving God’s Kingdom.
Luke 10:25–37
Jesus answers a question about loving your neighbour by telling a parable. In this lesson, children will notice the Samaritan’s practical acts of mercy and consider what it looks like to show mercy in everyday situations.
Luke 15:11–32
Jesus tells a story about a father and two sons. Children will follow the younger son’s return, the father’s welcome, and the older son’s anger so they can describe each response from the passage. (Luke 15:11, Luke 15:20, Luke 15:28)
Luke 17:11–19
In this lesson, children read how Jesus cleansed ten men who were lepers and notice that only one returned to thank him. They will compare the different responses and practise saying thank you clearly and thoughtfully.
John 13:1–17
In this lesson, children explore how Jesus used a simple action to teach humble service. John 13:1–17 shows that the Lord and Teacher cared for his disciples and told them to follow his example.
Exodus 20:1–17; Deuteronomy 5:5–21
In these verses, God speaks the Ten Commandments and identifies himself as the one who brought his people out of bondage. This lesson helps older students see the commandments in their covenant setting and trace how they speak about loyalty to God and conduct towards neighbours.
Psalms 23:1–6
Psalm 23 describes Yahweh’s care through the picture of a shepherd. In this lesson, children will follow the psalm from beginning to end and notice how it speaks about provision, guidance, comfort and hope.
Proverbs 3:1–12
Proverbs 3:1–12 shows that trusting Yahweh is not only a thought. In this passage, trust is joined to remembering his teaching, choosing kindness and truth, acknowledging him, honouring him with what we have, and accepting his correction.
Matthew 5:1–12
Jesus begins this teaching by naming people he calls blessed. In these words, he speaks about mercy, peace, gentleness, sorrow, and standing firm when people oppose his followers.
Matthew 6:5–15; Luke 11:1–4; Luke 11:9–13
Jesus teaches that prayer is not for showing off or using empty words. In these verses, he gives his disciples a pattern for prayer and tells them to keep asking their heavenly Father.
Matthew 22:34–40; Mark 12:28–34
Jesus is asked which commandment is the greatest. In these verses, he gives two linked commands that help children see what matters most: loving God fully and loving a neighbour as ourselves.
1 Corinthians 13:1–13
This lesson helps children hear what 1 Corinthians 13 says about love. They will see that love matters more than impressive words or actions, and they will practise noticing patient and kind responses named in the passage.
Galatians 5:16–26
Galatians 5:16–26 sets two opposite ways of life side by side. Students will trace the passage, notice the warning about harmful desires and behaviours, and carefully identify the fruit of the Spirit named in the text.
Ephesians 6:10–20
This lesson helps children see that Paul uses armour as a picture for being spiritually ready. The passage teaches standing firm in the Lord, using truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, God’s word, and prayer.
James 1:19–27
James teaches that listening to God’s word is not enough by itself. In this passage, hearing should lead to changed speech, changed behaviour and practical care for people in need.
Genesis 2:4–25; Genesis 3:1–24
In this lesson, children trace the order of events in Eden, identify the key choices in the story, and notice what this passage shows about God and about people.
Genesis 6:1–7:5; Genesis 7:6–8:19
This lesson helps children follow the account from God seeing corruption on the earth, to Noah entering the ship, to the floodwaters rising, and finally to God telling Noah to go out onto dry land.
Genesis 17:1–27; Genesis 18:1–15
In these verses, God speaks to Abraham about Sarah and the promised son, then the promise is repeated where Sarah can hear it. Children will trace the order, notice each response, and recall what God said he would do.
Genesis 29:1–30; Genesis 29:31–30:24
This lesson traces a difficult family story. Students will put the events in order, notice the choices different people make, and identify what the passage directly says God does in the middle of family conflict.
Genesis 32:1–21; Genesis 32:22–32
In this lesson, children follow Jacob from fearful preparation to a night of wrestling and blessing. They will sequence the account, notice Jacob’s choices, and identify what these verses show about people who fear and pray, and about God who preserves and blesses.
Genesis 42:1–38; Genesis 43:1–34; Genesis 44:1–34
This lesson helps children follow three linked parts of the story: the first journey, the second journey, and the cup and plea. Students will sequence the account and compare fear, responsibility, honesty and care for their father.
Genesis 47:27–48:22; Genesis 49:29–50:14
Jacob’s last days bring important words and careful actions. In this lesson, children trace what Jacob asked for, how he blessed Joseph’s sons, and how his family honoured his wishes after he died.
Exodus 4:18–31; Exodus 5:1–6:13; Exodus 7:1–13
God sends Moses back to Egypt, joins Aaron with him, and gives them words to speak to Pharaoh. In this lesson, children trace the order of the account, identify clear choices and outcomes, and notice that Yahweh keeps speaking when people resist.
